About
Construction
Technology
and
Construction
Management:
New
building
and
new
housing
construction
in
America
is
continuing
apace,
especially
in
the
burgeoning
population
centers
of
the
American
Southwest.
Qualified
construction
workers
and
managers
are
in
high
demand,
as
Americans
seek
new
towns
and
bigger
homes
and
businesses.
Demand
is
especially
high
for
Construction
Managers.
Intelligent
and
organized
leaders
are
necessary
to
see
construction
projects
from
planning
through
exectution
through
completion;
to
supervise
a
diverse
workforce
and
to
help
coordinate
the
considerable
logistics
behind
a
construction
project.
And
Construction
Managers
are
not
just
trained
for
the
hands-on
elements
of
a
construction
site.
Often
they
work
behind
the
scenes
in
various
strata
of
management,
procurement,
supervision,
and
other
essential
elements
of
the
construction
process.
Most
Construction
Managers
are
less
specific
and
more
comprehensive
overseeing
the
entire
scope
of
the
construction
process,
including
the
procurement
and
delivery
of
materials
and
equipment;
the
obtaining
and
maintenance
of
required
state,
local,
and
federal
permits;
budget
and
cost
issues,
and
the
supervision
of
subordinates.
Construction
Managers
held
nearly
a
half
million
positions
according
to
the
most
recent
estimates,
and
growth
within
the
industry
is
expected
to
continue
at
between
9%
and
17%
through
2014.
