What
kind
of
job
can
a
degree
in
Applied
Electrical
Technology
qualify
me
for?:
As
the
recipient
of
a
degree
in
Applied
Electrical
Technology,
you
will
be
qualified
as
an
entry
level
occupation
in
electrical
work,
either
for
an
established
or
independent
electrical
contractor
or
firm.
You
will
learn
all
elements
of
electrical
theory,
and
be
trained
in
the
installation,
connection,
maintenance
and
routine
testing
of
electrical
outlets,
equipment,
and
components,
running
wire
and
interfacing
with
a
variety
of
transformers
and
circuit
breakers.
As
a
working
electrician,
you
will
be
expected
to
follow
all
local
and
state
building
codes,
and
your
work
will
need
to
adhere
to
the
National
Electrical
Code.
The
work
is
challenging
and
varied,
and
depending
upon
the
firm
or
contractor
you
are
employed
with,
can
will
take
you
to
a
variety
of
commercial,
residential
and/or
industrial
environments.
There
is
considerable
potential
for
continued
employment
within
the
electrical
field,
especially
in
newer
population
centers
and
other
areas
experience
higher
than
usual
new
home
construction.
Depending
upon
the
field
you
are
employed
in,
there
are
often
a
number
of
opportunities
for
promotion
and
learning
new
areas
of
expertise.
Almost
all
areas
of
the
electrical
profession
require
ongoing
training
and
instruction
in
order
to
keep
your
certification
current.
Much
of
this
training
and
certification
involves
learning
new
technologies
and
requirements
of
the
various
electrical
codes.
