What are the Pre-Requisites to becoming an Accounting Assistant?: Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or GED. A diploma or certificate in Accounting Assistant is essential, as well as some years of relevant experience within a business environment, with some first-hand involvement with accounting-related issues.

Accounting Assistant Diploma: The Accounting Assistant program at Indiana Business College was specifically created to cover bookkeeping fundamentals and the implementing of accounting practices in a computerized environment. Students will learn basic accounting theory and computerized accounting. Upon graduation, students will have been trained for A/P and A/R, billing, bookkeeping, and receivable positons. IBC allows the transfer of credits from the Accounting Assistant Diploma to the Accounting Associate Degree program.
